Last updated: February 2025

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, booking an appointment, visiting our salon, or providing your contact information (including your phone number), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Our Services

Sow African Hair Braiding provides African hair braiding and related salon services, including but not limited to box braids, knotless braids, cornrows, twists, faux locs, extensions, and takedown services. Services are offered at our salon location and are subject to availability, stylist scheduling, and our policies.

We strive to provide accurate descriptions and pricing on our website and in person. Final service details, duration, and pricing may vary based on hair length, thickness, style complexity, and other factors discussed at your appointment.

SMS & Messaging Consent

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive appointment-related, customer care, and service update text messages from Sow African Hair Braiding. This includes appointment confirmations, reminders, rescheduling notices, and important service information.

  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies depending on your appointments and our communications.
  • Message & data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for text messages and data usage. Check with your carrier for details.
  • Opt out: Reply STOP to opt out of text messages at any time.
  • Help: Reply HELP for assistance or contact us by phone or in person.

You are not required to consent to text messages to use our services; however, opting out may mean you do not receive appointment reminders or important updates. You may still book and receive services by contacting us by phone or in person.

Booking & Appointments

Appointments can be made online (through our website), by phone, or in person. By booking an appointment, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate contact information (name, phone number) for confirmations and reminders
  • Arrive on time (we recommend arriving 10 minutes early)
  • Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance when possible
  • Pay any required deposit or fee in accordance with our payment and cancellation policies

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel appointments, including in cases of repeated no-shows, late cancellations, or behavior that violates our policies or disrupts our salon environment.

Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment as indicated at the salon. For appointments over a certain duration (e.g., 4 hours), a deposit (such as 50% of the estimated service cost) may be required at booking.

  • Deposits are generally non-refundable but may be transferred to a future appointment if you cancel or reschedule in accordance with our cancellation policy
  • Final pricing may vary based on hair length, thickness, style complexity, and products used
  • Gratuity is appreciated but never required
  • We reserve the right to require prepayment or a deposit for future bookings in cases of repeated no-shows or late cancellations

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may result in a fee (e.g., 50% of the service cost). No-shows may be charged the full service amount or the deposit may be forfeited.

We understand that emergencies happen. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We may waive fees in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.

Repeat no-shows or late cancellations may result in a requirement to prepay for future appointments or other restrictions.

Client Responsibilities

When using our services, you agree to:

  • Arrive with clean, detangled hair (or add a takedown service to your appointment if needed)
  • Inform your stylist of any scalp sensitivities, allergies, or health conditions that may affect your service
  • Treat our staff and other clients with respect; we reserve the right to refuse service for disruptive or inappropriate behavior
  • Supervise any minors you bring to the salon
  • Not hold us liable for results that differ from expectations when due to hair condition, previous treatments, or factors outside our control
